ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 13, 2017) Naval Air Crewman 3rd Class Chase Sparks, assigned to the Spartans of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 70, examines the Florida coastline in an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter after taking off from the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Irma to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
