170912-N-XP344-306 ARABIAN GULF (Sept. 12, 2017) U.S. Navy mine countermeasures (MCM) ship USS Sentry (MCM 3), Royal navy mine-hunter HMS Bangor (M109) and HMS Ledbury (M30), and Royal Fleet Auxiliary landing ship dock Cardigan Bay (L3009) steam in formation with two MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopters assigned to the Blackhawks of Helicopter MCM Squadron (HM) 15 Det. Two during U.K.-U.S. Mine Countermeasures Exercise 17-3. The bilateral exercise serves to enhance cooperation, mutual MCM capabilities and interoperability between the U.S. and U.K. to demonstrate the shared commitment of ensuring unfettered operations of naval and support vessels, as well as commercial shipping movements, throughout the maritime domain.
