MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Sept. 4, 2017) A Marine with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 365 (REINFORCED) signals to a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter on the flight deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) during flight operations Sept. 4, 2017. The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit regularly conducts flight operations to maintain readiness. Bataan is deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
