Staff Sgt. Mike Aguayo, a native of Los Angeles and a tactical power generation specialist assigned to 3rd Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment, Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Armored Division, uses a compass to find the correct direction to travel to a set location during the land navigation portion of 1st Armored Division’s 2019 Best Warrior Competition May 16 at Fort Bliss, Texas. Land navigation is an integral aspect of a Soldier’s warrior skills to ensure Soldiers are agile and ready to navigate through challenging terrain during combat missions in remote and austere environments.
