Sgt. Mark Robinson, a native of Phoenix and infantryman assigned to 4th Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, awaits inspection by graders after donning mission oriented protective posture (MOPP) gear designed to limit exposure to toxic environments, as part of the 1st Armored Division's 2019 Best Warrior Competition May 13 on Fort Bliss, Texas. Soldiers are assessed on their ability to accurately and quickly put on the protective gear in correct order and ensuring that all safety steps were accurately performed. Soldiers and Noncommissioned officers from across 1AD were assessed and tested on their Soldier skills over a four-day event culminating in a formal board appearance to distinguish the division's top junior enlisted Soldier and top NCO.
