Staff Sgt. Mark Robinson, a native of Phoenix and infantryman assigned to 4th Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, performs a needle chest decompression, a medical skill which alleviates pressure compressing the lung and affecting breathing, on a simulation medical mannequin during the medical skills portion of the 2019 1st Armored Division Best Warrior Competition May 13 at Fort Bliss, Texas. Soldiers from across America's Tank Division were tested and assessed on various Soldier skills and knowledge including medical skills, weapons proficiency, hand-to-hand combatives, land navigation and other Soldier skills in order to determine the division’s top junior enlisted Soldier and top NCO. Robinson was named the NCO of the Year for the 1st Armored Division.
