Pfc. Brandon Salamanca, a native of Medford, Oregon, and an infantryman assigned to 3rd Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, reviews his notes while moving to the radio transmissions station of the communications portion of 1st Armored Division's 2019 Best Warrior Competition May 15 at Fort Bliss. The communications portion of the competition took place on the third day of the competition. This event provided an accurate medical evacuation transmission report, and a spot report detailed information after an simulated enemy encounter using hand signals relaying information through visual actions.
