A member of the National World War II Museum's Victory Belles, a trio of vocalists dedicated to performing musical classics of the World War II era, performs on board USS Wasp (LHD 1) during a reception to honor the city of New Orleans April 18. Wasp is in New Orleans April 17-23 for the War of 1812 Bicentennial Commemoration Fleet Week. Approximately 3,000 sailors and Marines, nine ships from the United States, France, Canada, Great Britain, Ecuador, and Indonesia, and about three dozen aircraft are present for the event. The commemoration of the bicentennial of the War of 1812 is a salute to all sailors and Marines who fought gallantly in that conflict, who have served in our nations' conflicts since then, and who are defending freedom around the world today.
