    Not too long ago, residents living near the Al Mahmoodiya Wastewater Treatment Plant in Iraq would complain about the bad smell coming from the Plant. With help from USAID, the stink has disappeared from the Plant, thanks to a combination of improved water-treatment protocols, maintenance, and operations.
