The ISIS occupation left water resources in Ninewa and Western Anbar severely damaged, leading to widespread water shortages. Residents had to depend on expensive, unreliable, and low-quality water delivered by truck.
USAID has provided new water pumps to water directorates across Ninewa and Western Anbar, increasing the water supply to nearly 700,000 residents.
