Majid is the owner of a factory in Fallujah. When he returned in 2017, he discovered his factory had been completely destroyed by ISIS. "We were able to bring the business back up and operating in 2018," Majid said. "However, transportation remained a problem because the primary bridge connecting us to the market was damaged."
The bridge was renovated with the help of USAID, making it easier for the factories to operate and for workers and people to cross safely. Majid's factory is currently experiencing a surge in business.
"We now generate 1.5 million tons of cement annually. Most importantly, my employees feel secure going to work, and we are able to meet our deadlines. Thanks to USAID for their assistance.”
