Pfc. Charles Barnes, a native of Saint Louis, Mo., secures a roadside during a joint Iraqi National Guard and multinational forces operations in the western Ninevah province city of Tall Afar on Aug. 1, 2004. Three battalions from the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team) and three Iraqi National Guard battalions conducted the operation in an effort to eliminate terrorist activity in the northern region of Iraq. Reese is a member of Company B, 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment.
