Pfc. Sean Clifton, from Sacramento, Calif., patrols the streets of Tall Afar with Iraqi National Guard soldiers during early morning operations on Aug. 1, 2004. Clifton is a member of 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, one of three battalions from the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team) that joint operations with the Iraqi National Guard in the western Ninevah province city. Working together with Iraqi Security Forces, the operation was designed to neutralize insurgent and terrorist elements in the northern region of Iraq.
