Heather Peto, wife of Jay Wilson, engages with the daughter of Milwaukee Brewers™ pitcher Brandon Woodruff, while Jay chats with and Brandon and his wife Jonie July 24 at American Family Field™ in Milwaukee. Jay Wilson, a retired lieutenant colonel with the Wisconsin Army National Guard, was presented with a service dog named Frosty, a Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever mix. Woodruff is an ambassador for Fairway Independent Mortgage Company, whose nonprofit arm American Warrior Initiative sponsored the service dog for Wilson, who was medically retired in May 2023 after 28 years of military service and multiple combat deployments. The Wilson family will have physical custody of Frosty once several weeks of training are completed. Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs photo by Vaughn R. Larson
