Nominated by: SMSgt Roger T Hughes

SrA Brianna Powers is the Logistics Element Leader for the 39th Civil Engineer Squadron, where she also augments the flight’s training section. Her duties include the stewardship of two facilities, the material management of 6,200 equipment assets worth $1.75M, and producing weekly CBRN courses and specialized trainings for 148 nuclear surety mission forces. Powers sourced and programmed 90% of misallocated assets from two UTCs and led four NCOs to source 160 items, logged 3,100 assets, and cleared 540 database deficiencies in ARIS. Her stellar UTC management practices and leadership in proficiency training slashed a portion of the wing’s surety mission response time from 30 to 10 minutes. Additionally, Powers certified USAFE’s largest 26 Airmen Emergency Management Support Team to respond to weapons mishaps and coordinated with the Host Nation to ensure 27 vehicles and equipment were ready to support the installation’s $18B Protection Level One mission and 6,500 NATO forces during a classified movement of materials that had not occurred since 2020. She also bolstered two wing’s deployment and war readiness by producing 24 CBRN courses for 552 students and leading 10 instructors through the certification of 111 Emergency Operations and Unit Control Center personnel. She filled a SNCO position by facilitating the Wing Emergency Management Working Group and revamped the Incirlik Newcomer’s Briefing with updated safety recommendations. Powers authored two Emergency Management newsletters to highlight hazard preparation for 12,00 active-duty Airmen. Her amazing efforts were pivotal during relief operations in the aftermath a 7.8 magnitude earthquake which decimated parts of Turkey. Her contributions to Commanders Task Force 61/2 allowed the successful coordination of 3,144 relief workers from 25 partner nations, search and rescue teams clearing 173,000 damaged buildings, and over 4,000 aircraft sorties. Her selfless efforts in the Crisis Response Operations Center culminated in the delivery of 36M pounds of humanitarian aid to 28.8M victims in the region resulting in her recognition from the Commanding General of United States Naval Forces for Europe and Africa. Powers completed all her CCAF requirements for an Associate Degree in Emergency Management, earned 14 Molecular Biology Bachelors credits, and was awarded six specialized FEMA certifications. Her professional leadership was recognized by the John L Levitow Award from Airman Leadership School.
