He excelled in a position meant for a MSgt, leading 19 Airmen in support of two construction projects and preparing for an upcoming deployment. Hernandez shined as a team lead restoring the 99th Security Forces Squadron’s parking lot for 352 Defenders. On this project, he trained 35 multi-craft members in milling 1,000 tons of material and paving 900 tons of asphalt. The project provided rapid on-the-job training to restore two World War II era airfields in PACAF. Hernandez also attended a two-day leadership summit and Physical Training Leader course. He leveraged his knowledge to lead eight PT sessions for 27 members. Overall, Hernandez takes initiative in leadership roles and is fearless when faced with any obstacle.
