SrA Zane Geiger is an exceptional Airman Civil Engineer. The CE operations flight is unique at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, given the Base Operations Support contract. Due to of this, the government manning is slim. Since day one however, the entire squadron depended on Geiger to get tasks and projects complete. In his short three years of service, Geiger has already had three deployments. Currently Geiger fills the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge role in the Requirements and Optimizations Flight, overseeing 100 contractors supporting $5.2B in real property. He has also led four mosquito-control aerial spray missions, coordinating with 12 organizations to treat 30,000 acres and protecting 31,000 personnel. Geiger was vital to the launch of the NexGen-IT system, validating 25,000 requirements. The launch was benchmarked by the Air Force Civil Engineer Center for being the first ever successful base operations support transition. Geiger served as a base Honor Guard, leading their training program with 16 team members and performing 14 military funeral honors and ceremonies. His exceptional earned him the Airman Below The Zone, one Squadron AOQ, 1 Wing AOQ, and 1 Wing Volunteer OTQ award. He was instrumental in his team winning nine squadron, three group, two wing level awards and the 15 Air Force nomination for the Verne Orr Award.
