BREMERTON, Washington (Aug. 13, 2017) Boatswain's Mate Seaman Chris Lavigne (left), from Boston, and Ship's Serviceman Seaman Willie Cross, from St. Louis, pass the stopper on a mooring line on USS John C. Stennis' (CVN 74) fantail. John C. Stennis is returning to port after completing sea trials five days early, marking the completion of its planned incremental availability (PIA) at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. During PIA, the ship and shipyard team accomplished the largest work package ever for an aircraft carrier in a six-month availability.
