170807-N-VG727-0840 HONIARA, Guadalcanal (Aug. 7, 2017) Command Master Chief Jeffrey Hineman, assigned to the forward-deployed Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Barry (DDG 52) lays a wreath with Cmdr. Dave Huljack, commanding officer, and Cmdr. William Blodgett, executive officer, as part of a ceremony honoring Signalman 1st Class Douglas Munro, a Coast Guardsman who posthumously received the Medal of Honor. The ceremony took place during Barry’s port visit to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Guadalcanal Campaign. The 75th commemoration is a tribute to courage, service, and sacrifice of those who fought in the Guadalcanal Campaign of World War II.
