PUGET SOUND (Aug. 13, 2017) Aviation Ordnanceman Airman Matthew Lindsey, from Kennedale, Texas, stands by to fire a shot line, used to lead the main mooring lines to the pier, aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) as the ship returns to Naval Base Kitsap - Bremerton. John C. Stennis is returning to port after completing sea trials five days early, marking the completion of its planned incremental availability (PIA) at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. During PIA, the ship and shipyard team accomplished the largest work package ever for an aircraft carrier in a six-month availability.
