170811-N-AZ808-030 PACIFIC OCEAN (August 11, 2017) – Sonar Technician (Surface) 3rd Class Dillon Thompson, assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97), guides Sonar Technician (Surface) 2nd Class Dameon Mills, right, during a show of force transit exercise with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group (TRCSG). Halsey is currently underway conducting a Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) with TRCSG in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests a carrier strike group’s mission-readiness and ability to perform as an integrated unit through simulated real-world scenarios.
