NAVAL AIR STATION PENSACOLA, Fla. (Sept. 14, 2017) Commander, Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Capt. Christopher Martin, finishes the first lap of the courtyard of the Prisoner of War/Missing in Action (POW/MIA) 24 hour vigil run held in honor of National POW/MIA Recognition Day, Sept. 14. The run signifies the vigilance that POW’s must maintain 24 hours a day while imprisoned, upholding the Code of Conduct and to return home with honor. Observed by the nation on the third Friday in September, National POW/MIA Recognition Day is held to remember those MIA-POWs who are not forgotten and many of whom have paid the ultimate price.
