KEY WEST, Fla. (Sept. 16, 2017) Lt. Cmdr. Scott P. Mason (left), Naval Air Station Key West’s chaplain, and Lt. Kyron D. Bell (right), a chaplain assigned to Naval Air Station Jacksonville, say a prayer thanking Specialist Eli Maldonado Jr., assigned to Bravo Company, 124th Infantry Regiment from Cocoa Beach Florida National Guard, for all his hard work at the Searstown FEMA distribution point where civilian volunteers and the Cocoa Beach National Guard hand out food, water and ice to the local community. The Department of Defense is supporting FEMA, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Irma to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
