ARABIAN GULF (Sept. 12, 2017) Boatswain's Mate Seaman Rikki McGee, left, from Oakland, Calif., and Seaman Jordan Weeks, right, from Brooklyn, N.Y., remove the chocks and chains from an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the "Eightballers" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 8 before it takes off from the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Erie (CG 70). Lake Erie is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
