A 1st Armored Division Soldier gets assessed on the M249 Machine Gun and his ability to properly load and unload the weapon, correct malfunctions, and perform a functions check during the Expert Infantry, Expert Soldier, and Expert Field Medical Badge evaluation held on Sept. 18, 2024, at Fort Bliss, Texas. E3B put Soldiers through a series of rigorous and demanding events and tasks such as the Expert Physical Fitness Assessment, land navigation, individual weapons familiarization, medical tasks, patrol lanes, and the completion of a 12-mile road march in three hours or less to earn the coveted badges.
