U.S. Army 1st Lt. Madeleine Gordon, assigned to the 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, is awarded the Meritorious Service Medal by U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Curtis Taylor, the commanding general of the 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss, during the Expert Infantryman, Field Medical and Soldier badges, known as E3B, award ceremony held at Fort Bliss, Texas, Sept. 20, 2024. Gordon earned the MSM for the best time on the Expert Physical Fitness Assessment, and the title of "True Blue" for earning the EIB by passing all tests and assessments on the first attempt.
The E3B is a rigorous series of physical and combat tasks that tests Soldiers abilities and knowledge in several key areas including physical endurance, patrol skills, weapons familiarization and medical tasks.
