Chief petty officers stand by while awaiting their turn to present the gold fouled anchors and chief's combination covers to newly selected chief petty officers during a chief petty officer pinning ceremony on the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. It is a time honored tradition in the Navy for a member of the Chief's Mess to present the selectee with their first set of anchors and combination cover. Ronald Reagan is currently deployed to the 5th Fleet/NAVCENT area of responsibility. Operations in the NAVCENT area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
