MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII – Carole Kai, the president of Carole Kai Charities and organizer for the Great Aloha Run, speaks with a reporter after a ceremony hosted by Marine Aircraft Group 24 on Aug. 12, 2016, inside Hangar 102 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay. Kai, a Honolulu native, visited the base in order to donate $10,000 on behalf of the Great Aloha Run, which was divided between two military charities, the Semper Fi Fund and the Wingman Foundation. The Great Aloha Run, which raises approximately $400,000 annually, supports local charities and military organizations, and this year’s run was dedicated to the 12 service members Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463 lost in January’s training incident.
