160803-N-IL474-004 SOUDA BAY, Greece (August 3, 2016) Sailors conduct a foreign object debris (FOD) walkdown on the newly upgraded airfield at Naval Support Activity Souda Bay, Greece. FOD walkdowns are performed to remove objects on the flightline that could damage a jet engine's intake, compressor blades or related components. NSA Souda Bay enables the forward operations and responsiveness of U.S. and allied forces in support of Navy Region, Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia's mission to provide services to the Fleet, Fighter, and Family.
