Estonian navy Capt. Sten Sepper, Ghana navy Rear Adm. P. Kofi Faidoo, Royal New Zealand navy Rear Adm. A. John O. Martin, Republic of Singapore navy Rear Adm. Lai Chung Han, and Royal Norwegian navy Rear Adm. Lars Saunes participate in an “International Norms and Standards” panel discussion during the Chief of Naval Operations’ 22nd International Seapower Symposium (ISS) at U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. Approximately 200 senior officers and civilians from 106 countries, including many of the senior-most officers from those countries’ navies and coast guards, are currently attending the biennial event Sept. 20-23. This year’s theme is “Stronger Maritime Partners,” and will feature guest speakers and panel discussions to explore common security challenges of maritime leaders in history and provides a forum for senior international leaders to create and solidify solutions to shared challenges and threats in ways that are in the interests of individual nations.
