YOKIJIDO ISLAND, Republic of Korea (Mar. 27, 2016) - Prior to the construction of a road project on Yokjido Island, Builder 1st Class Oscar Barba, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4 and an engineer from the Republic of Korea (ROK) Construction Battalion, discuss the difference between the metric system and the U.S. customary unit of measurement during Exercise Foal Eagle, Mar. 27. The paved road will shorten the distance of travel to connect 2,000 locals more efficiently to exchange goods, services and improve economical growth. Foal Eagle is a series of joint and combined field training exercises conducted by Combined Forces Command and U.S. Forces Korea component commands. Approximately 10,600 U.S. forces will participate in the exercise, with ROK forces from major ROK units representing all services also participating.
