    Petty Officer 3rd Class Jerrod Bennett, a USS Cowpens boarding team member, stands by to board the rigid hull inflatable boat for a simulated visit, board, search and seizure non-compliant boarding exercise aboard the HMAS Darwin. USS Cowpens and HMAS Darwin are operating together conducting unit level training prior to the commencement of the joint exercise Talisman Sabre 2011. USS Cowpens is forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan, and is underway in the U.S. Navy 7th Fleet area of operations. TS11 is an exercise designed to train U.S. and Australian forces to plan and conduct Combined Task Force operations to improve combat readiness and interoperability on a variety of missions, from conventional conflict to peacekeeping and humanitarian assistance efforts.
