NORFOLK, Va. (July 9, 2018) Aviation Structural Mechanic 3rd Class Genesis Fernandez, from Chicago, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford’s (CVN 78) aviation intermediate maintenance department, receives her certificate of appointment to the rank of petty officer third class from Capt. Richard McCormack, Ford’s commanding officer. Fernandez was promoted following her selection for the Meritorious Advancement Program.
