160817-N-NF288-024 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 17, 2016) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 2nd Class (AW) Tyler Hulshizer, from Long Pine, Nebraska, puts his fingers up as a signal to raise the aircraft elevator in the hangar bay of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The elevator is being raised to help the ship maintain balance during upcoming maneuverability tests for Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV). Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
