A Peruvian combat engineer from Brigada Infanteria De Marina De Ancon, patches a wall stripped from paint at Escuela Pronoie Nuevo Despertar Mis Primeros Pasitos in Zona De Acapulco. The Peruvian engineers and the U.S. Navy Seabees, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB 23), embarked aboard High Speed Vessel (HSV-2) Swift are working together out of Base Naval De Callao and Brigada Infanteria De Marina De Ancon, as a part of HSV-Southern Partnership Station 2012. The Seabees and engineers will spend three weeks refurbishing schools in the area. HSV-SPS is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America. The exercise involves information sharing with Navies, Coast Guards and civilian services throughout the region.
