Utilitiesman 1st Class Patrick Koelle, a U.S. Navy Seabee assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB 23), embarked on High Speed Vessel (HSV-2) Swift, places a roof on at an elementary school in Zona De Acapulco. NMCB 23 embarked aboard Swift is working with Peruvian combat engineers from Base Naval De Callao and Brigada Infanteria De Marina De Ancon. The Seabees and engineers will spend three weeks refurbishing schools in the area. HSV-SPS is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America. The exercise involves information sharing with Navies, Coast Guards and civilian services throughout the region.
