U.S. Army Sgt. Luis Ortiz-Morales, a medical logistics specialist with the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Agency’s Medical Maintenance Operations Division, poses for a portrait at the start of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard’s Best Warrior Competition at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania, April 2, 2025.
"I am looking forward to any event that includes cardio, I like to run and work out," he said. "I joined the Army to be a better version of myself and make my family proud and travel around the world."
Competitors are evaluated on their individual ability to adapt and overcome challenging scenarios and battle-focused events, which tests their technical and tactical abilities under stress and extreme fatigue.
