U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Travis Anthony Daniels, an equipment readiness specialist with the 252nd Quartermaster Company, 728th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 213th Regional Support Group, poses for a portrait at the start of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard’s Best Warrior Competition at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania, April 2, 2025.
"I am looking forward to the obstacle course the most, because during the train up event in November I fell off the weaver three times. I also was not able to climb the rope. I look forward to improving greatly from my past performance, finishing the course in a time that outranks my fellow competitors," he said. "I joined the Pennsylvania National Guard to go to school. The Pennsylvania National Guard has benefited me in multiple ways such as my growth as a man, realizing my potential to impact others' lives and granting me a purpose of mentoring others."
Competitors are evaluated on their individual ability to adapt and overcome challenging scenarios and battle-focused events, which tests their technical and tactical abilities under stress and extreme fatigue.
