U.S. Army Sgt. Firdavs Kadirov, a motor transport operator with the 1067th Composite Truck Company, 228th Transportation Battalion, 213th Regional Support group, poses for a portrait at the start of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard’s Best Warrior Competition at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania, April 2, 2025.
"I am looking forward to qualifications for the SIG Sauer M17. Last time I shot it was in basic training," he said. "I joined the Pennsylvania National Guard for college money and to get my U.S citizenship."
Competitors are evaluated on their individual ability to adapt and overcome challenging scenarios and battle-focused events, which tests their technical and tactical abilities under stress and extreme fatigue.
