U.S. Army Sgt. Hunter A. Fetterley, an information technology specialist with the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command, poses for a portrait at the start of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard’s Best Warrior Competition at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania, April 2, 2025.
"I am looking forward to the shooting qualification because I like guns," he said. "I always waned to join the Army since I was a child. It has given me life changing skill and fulfillment."
Competitors are evaluated on their individual ability to adapt and overcome challenging scenarios and battle-focused events, which tests their technical and tactical abilities under stress and extreme fatigue.
