PACIFIC OCEAN –Lance Cpl. Garnet Burgess, an avionics technician with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Aviation Combat Element, conducts maintenance on an AV-8B Harrier aboard the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), July 22, 2017. An avionics technician is a specialist who is responsible for all the electronics aboard an aircraft as well as the wiring that connects to the electrical system. The 15th MEU and America Amphibious Ready Group Team is currently deployed to the 3rd, 5th and 7th fleet areas of responsibility as a crisis response and contingency force.
