    15th Marine Expeditionary Unit

    PACIFIC OCEAN – Fireman Tevin Hall, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), takes off his gear after a damage control training exercise aboard the ship, July 28, 2017. The 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and the America Amphibious Ready Group drill for emergency situations regularly to ensure the safety of the ship and its crew. The 15th MEU is deployed as a crisis response and contingency force in the 7th Fleet’s area of operation. The 7th Fleet’s area of operations spans more than 124 million square kilometers, stretching from the International Dateline to the India-Pakistan border and from the Kuril Islands in the North to the Antarctic in the South.
