YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 3, 2016) Sailors prepare for Board of Inspection and Survey by performing preventative maintenance on MK-1 auto-inflatable life preservers in the hangar bay of the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Sailors wear MK-1 auto-inflatable life preservers on the flight deck during flight operations to help make them more visible and to help them survive and aid their rescue if they fall overboard. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
