U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Johnathan Akers, independent duty corpsman, Marine Aircraft Control Group 18, instructs a combat lifesaver course to members of the Central Marianas Port Authority during Exercise Valiant Shield 16, at Tinian International Airport, Tinian, Sept. 13, 2016. The course consisted of classroom instruction and practical application that prepared for basic trauma incidents. VS16 is a biennial, U.S.-only, field training exercise that focuses on joint training with U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force to increase interoperability and working relationships.
